== Selfref == The {{para|selfref|true}} feature says in the documentation that it replicates {{tl|selfref}}. However, in the module it adds the class "selfref", while {{tl|selfref}} adds "plainlinks selfreference noprint". Shouldn't these be the same? --[[User:Ahecht|Ahecht]] ([[User talk:Ahecht|TALK
PAGE]]) 18:53, 23 August 2018 (UTC) *{{re|Ahecht}} Yes, we should probably make
selfref
and
selfreference
consistent; the question is simply which to choose. Based on some searches, e.g.
<nowiki>insource:selfreference -insource:/tl\|selfref/ -insource:/\{\{selfref/ -hastemplate:selfref</nowiki>
in the MediaWiki and Template namespaces, it looks like
selfref
may have more extant uses. I'm not picky about that, though. The additional classes are redundant:
noprint
because hatnotes are excluded already in [[MediaWiki:Print.css]], and
plainlinks
because hatnotes should never contain external links. {{[[User:Nihiltres|Nihiltres]] |[[User talk:Nihiltres|talk]] |[[Special:Contributions/Nihiltres|edits]]}} 20:07, 19 December 2018 (UTC) *:I wouldn't depend on that last point; we can't future-predict exactly what this will be used for, and the idea "hatnotes should never contain external links" really only pertains to mainspace and other reader-facing content. There is no "rule" to apply when it comes to projectspace and userspace, where there are potential use cases for such links (e.g. to Wikia I mean Fandom.com [what a dumb rename], or Meatball, or some other wiki). βββ―[[User:SMcCandlish|'''SMcCandlish''']] [[User talk:SMcCandlish|β]] [[Special:Contributions/SMcCandlish|Β’]]βπΌβ 06:51, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
